WIPES Academy

Robert Johnson

Principal, Smith, Johnson & Associates

Rob Johnson has more than 26 years’ experience in the nonwovens industry and is a well-known speaker and conference moderator. Johnson's industry tenure started in air laid nonwovens research leading to senior positions with Scott Nonwovens and PGI Nonwovens (now Berry Global), Throughout his career, Johnson has been involved with technology assessment, materials development, strategic planning, and competitive intelligence; he has traveled extensively to consult with customers and internal clients as well as to investigate new market and technology opportunities. Johnson holds both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and is a registered professional engineer in multiple states.
