QMILK- fiber is a textile fiber made of non marketable milk and 100% natural and renewable resources in an eco-friendly process. The textile fiber is multifunctional, antibacterial, compostable and flame retardant. The QMILK-fiber has a natural silk-like character and a very good color absorbancy. The company was founded in 2011. Today a production line with a capacity of 1000 tons per year was built. Now 20 employees are working in the company in a 2 shift system.
QMILK is the perfect material to be combined with viscose and cellulose, since QMILK is the only natural fibre with thermo-bonding properties. This means that natural fibres no longer have to be combined with synthetic fibres. Instead, combined with the QMILK binding fibre they can keep their natural authenticity. As a protein-fibre, QMILK fibres not only sport unique properties but is also the fibre with the smallest CO2 footprint in the world. It can be composted at home and is residue-free biodegradable within a few months. QMILK is made out 100% renewable raw material and is produced in a zero-waste-process.
