Factoring in the Fracking at Dornbirn
No matter which side of the “fracking” debate you are on, shale gas is going to make an impact one way or the other in manufacturing. The global nonwovens industry is sitting up and taking notice as evidenced by the conversation in Dornbirn at the Man-made Fibers Congress in Austria in September. The U.S. is becoming more competitive globally thanks to shale gas fracking and this seems to be changing the fiber supply landscape for European suppliers. Europeans are taking heart though that there still seems to be plenty of opportunities for their fiber products.
