TAPPI’s NETInc Program brings the Industry Together
TAPPI’s Nonwovens Engineers and Technologists (NET) Division has developed a very strong, diverse program that offers a little something for everyone. The NETInc program is open to all full conference NETINc and PaperCon registrants so be sure to check out the variety of sessions offered.
On Monday those registered for NETInc are encouraged to participate in the Opening Keynote address from Jim Abbott and the PIMA Executive Panel. In the afternoon NETInc kicks off with its own opening session and state of the industry addresses from Bryan Hayes, Kimberly-Clark and Steve Ogle, INDA who will each be discussing hot topics affecting the nonwovens industry. The technical sessions begin with part one of a two part tutorial on Nonwovens Processes- what they are and what is made using each method. Taught by Dr. Royall Broughton, Auburn University & Dr. Gajanan Bhat, University of Tennessee this is an opportunity to learn from two of the most well-respected educators in the field. Topics covered include Carding, Air Lay, Needle punch, and Hydro entanglement. Continuing Education Units are being offered for attending Parts 1 or 2 of the tutorial sessions. On Monday evening, before walking the exhibit floor, attend the NETworking Happy Hour specifically for NETInc attendees; a perfect time to catch up with old friends and make new connections.
NETinc will be in full effect on Tuesday April 29th with a full day of technical content covering topics on Process Technology, Binders & Additives, and Nanotechnology. The second part of the tutorial concludes Tuesday afternoon and covers Spunbond, Meltblown, Electrospinning, Calendar Bonding and New Technological Developments. The exhibit reception Tuesday night will be the perfect opportunity to walk the floor and make connections with those who can really make an impact on your business. And Finally on Tuesday evening the awards dinner will honor some of the nonwovens industry’s top leaders.
Rounding out the conference on Wednesday will be sessions on Filtration and Modeling. Also on Wednesday is the NET Division Council committee meeting. If you want to become involved in TAPPI’s NET Division this is the perfect opportunity to see what we’re about. We are always looking for new ideas and ways to help the division grow and serve the industry better. Individual NET Committees meet throughout the conference as well so be sure to see the schedule of events to attend those that might be of interest to you.
