Have you seen car commercials where they promise a quiet ride? So quiet, in fact, that you could take a nap in your car while there is chaos and constant noise outside around you? Car manufacturers always seem to be on the lookout for ways to differentiate their product from others and a new damping material, AUTYL, could be one way to do that. It promises more acoustic comfort and also has the potential to lower fuel consumption (think lighter weight). Could there possibly be other market applications too? Aircraft? Buildings? Washer/dryers? Dishwashers?
