Cotton Incorporated Sponsors AATCC 2020 C2C Student Merchandising Competition
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, USA, February 10, 2020—Cotton Incorporated’s CottonWorks program is now sponsoring the 2020 AATCC Concept 2 Consumer Student Merchandising Competition.
This year’s competition theme is “Everlasting Style.” Students will develop a business model, determine a marketing strategy, and create merchandising tools and products for an integrated apparel line for office/work attire that is timeless in terms of sustainability, quality, and style. The students are also asked to watch and read educational resources so they can describe why their line is sustainable and why the highlighted AATCC test method is important to their product line.
The topic of this year’s student competition is a natural fit for cotton as it is a natural fiber that can be utilized in high-quality, stylish workwear. Students can find a wide array of factual information on cotton sustainability and quality from industry experts at cottonworks.com.
To further encourage students to use the CottonWorks resource, Cotton Incorporated would like to inspire students to incorporate 75% or more of cotton in their apparel line. In addition to the prizes below, AATCC is offering an additional award of US$500 for winning entries that choose to incorporate 75% or more of cotton in their apparel line.
