TECHNICAL REPORTINDA SCHEDULES SECOND SET OF TRAINING COURSES IN INDIAFollowing the successful inaugural efforts last year, INDA has scheduled a series of training workshops in India throughout the summer months. Three events – in Ahmedabad, Coimbatore and Kolkata – will once again focus on education and networking in one of the fastest growing regions in the world for nonwovens. TecniTex Nonwovens Pvt. Ltd., a consulting and trading firm based in Bangalore, will collaborate with INDA to organize and conduct the three courses. TecniTex Nonwovens Pvt Ltd. has the exclusive rights to offer the INDA Elementary Nonwovens Training Courses (ENWTC) in India. Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar, co-chairman of the INDA-India Committee and of the Nonwovens and Advanced Materials Laboratory at Texas Tech University, will serve as the course tutor for summer training workshops. “INDA has successfully established its presence in India by conducting training workshops, international conferences and specialized programs aimed at promoting the emerging nonwovens and technical textiles industry in India,” says Dr. Ramkumar. “The promotion and the awareness created by INDA programs has set the ball rolling with many new projects coming up in this segment.” Attendees at each of the two-day Nonwoven Training Courses will learn the basics of nonwoven production methods, learn how to recognize different nonwovens, appreciate the diversity of nonwovens and discover world trends and forecasts. INDA kicked off its efforts in India in 2007 with two elementary nonwoven training courses in Mumbai and Coimbatore, and also organized a major international conference, called “Link with India,” in Mumbai last October 2007. In addition, a collaborative Training Course on Geotextiles was held in Surat, Delhi and Coimbatore with the textile commissioner's office, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in March 2008. “We expect India to grow in the double digit range similar to
China in the nonwoven and technical textiles segment and offer great
potential for the global industry in the years to come,” says
Rory Holmes, INDA president. “India is one of the fastest growing
and most important countries in the world for the nonwovens industry
and it is INDA's goal to educate the country's textile community about
nonwovens, while at the same time helping our member companies learn
about and take advantage of the opportunities India offers as both
a supplier and customer of nonwoven fabrics.” For more information, contact Mr. M. Mallyah at TecniTex Nonwovens Pvt. Ltd., 569, Hari Bldg, First Floor, 6th Cross, 7th Main, Indiranagar, HAL II Stage, Bangalore-560038. Tel: 91-80-64567740, FAX: 91-80-25255605; Email:tecnitex@gmail.com
